Gakeem Publications is a publishing cum marketing company. We deal mainly in children’s books. From the basics of education – Handwriting; to critical thinking – Mathematics Skills, Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning; and to creativity – Drawing, Colouring and Shapes; and also, to speech and language – English Skills. All these will open up the minds of the children to think outside the box and enrich it.
Job Title : Sales Officer
Location: Palmgrove, Lagos State
Work Mode: Onsite; Monday – Saturday
Time: 8:30am – 5:30pm
JOB SUMMARY
As the Sales Officer, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our books to our cutomers (marketers/schools). You shall also play a key role in managing our digital systems achieving our annual sales targets. You shall also play a key role in developing strategies for our book sales, managing our relationships with marketers/schools and contributing to our revenue growth. The ideal candidate should have good accounting, communication, negotiation and networking skills, working independently or as a team, as well as sales and target-driven mindset in a publishing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Promoting and selling our books.
- Maintaining accurate sales records, invoices and marketers/schools database.
- Negotiating and closing bulk orders and distribution deals.
- Maintaining relationships with existing marketers/schools to ensure continue business.
- Assisting in our online book promotions and e-commerce sales.
- Communicating customer feedbacks in order to improve book offerings.
- Ensuring smooth order processing by coordinating with the logistics and office assistant.
- Staying updated on publishing trends, bestseller lists and market demands.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bsc or National Diploma in any relevant field.
- Accuracy in sales records.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in sales, business development or marketing, preferably in a publishing company.
- Strong negotiation and persuasive skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with marketers/schools.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities to interact with colleagues, customers, and other departments.
Requirements
- Familiarity with office equipment.
- Strong English language skills.
- Attention to detail with an ability to spot grammar, spelling and punctuation errors.
- Confidentiality.
- Must be residing within Somolu/Ilupeju Axis.
