Quantitative Reasoning skill is more than just being able to compute or calculate. It involves the analysis and understanding of quantitative information presented and correctly providing accurate deductions or solutions. It is a life skill useful to children in the classroom, and beyond. It develops the children’s critical thinking ability to help them make more accurate judgments about situations that require the interpretation and evaluation of quantitative information.
Our lives are flooded with numerical data from political polling data to body measurements to distance between locations, etc., which is why quantitative reasoning skill is so keen to ensure complete primary education is attained.
In “Step by Step to Quantitative Reasoning” the exercises are preceded with logical examples that lead to the “why question” in reasoning. This helps kids think through the logic they are to use to solve a problem or come to a conclusion. The books are graded to make the learning process easy. It follows the UBE Curriculum and the exercises are arranged in Terms (1st Term, 2nd Term and 3rd Term) and weeks (week 1 to 11).

One of the most crucial and significant aspects of development for babies is cognitive development. Babies interact with the world through their senses and the assumptions they make must be guided and directed.
For example, a child might notice you (as a parent or teacher) is big while he/she and his/her fellow class mates are small. It is not possible for him/her to capture the meaning of that unless he/she is taught the concept simplistically and continuously. That is why this series “Mathematical Skills” begin from a very early age (2 years) to guide the children’s understanding of mathematics (numbers, shapes and logic).

The ability to speak and acquire language is innate but language skill (that is, proficiency in the use of language) is learnt.
Kids from the day they are born perceive the world through their senses (eyes, ears, nose, etc) and construct their own meanings out of it. As you keep providing this exercise to this child in a particular area (such as reading) the child begins to identify that exercise as significant and develops all senses related to that exercise more rapidly.
As such, reading to children from a very early age is very crucial for the development of their listening skill and cannot be over emphasized. That is why we created this series “English Skills” to allow parents and schools enrich the child’s comprehension and communication ability from a very early age.
